Since 1946, entertainment has been core to the Pioneertown experience.

The long days of filming Westerns have given way to balmy nights enjoying live music on Mane Street. The Pioneertown Motel has always been at the heart of the action. Today, that means your commute to breakfast, lunch, happy hour and live music is just a few dusty steps away. After a long hike in the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve, or a lazy day reading in one of our cozy hammocks, you may find yourself clamoring for a good time. The legendary roadhouse, Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace is a stones throw away and hosts highly curated touring musicians weekly. The Red Dog Saloon, our sister property in Pioneertown and de facto “Lobby Bar,” offers intimate and free live music and the occasional late night disco.

The Details

  • Yes, we are! Pioneertown Motel is the only hotel in the Joshua Tree area that is set in nature, off the highway. The main entrance to the park is a 15 minute drive from Pioneertown, but those in the know will explore the Pioneertown Mountains Preserve just here in our backyard.

  • Our office is open 24 hours/ day, meaning evening check-in is no problem and there will always be a team member on site for any questions or assistance. All rooms have A/C and solid Wi-Fi. Canyon Coffee is available for free to guests in our Canteen.

  • The Red Dog Saloon has the best breakfast around. There is a full menu on weekends and an abbreviated offering during the week. Don’t miss the breakfast quesadilla or the Tofu Verde breakfast taco for the vegans.

  • Yes, we are. Well behaved pets will run you $50/night. The fine folks at the Red Dog Saloon will give your pup a water bowl while you dine on the patio.
